Levels of Spanish to obtain the DELE title

The DELE exams are designed following the guidelines of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) of the Council of Europe, which guarantees a practical way of establishing an international standard and objective measurement of the level to be reached at each stage of teaching and in the evaluation of results.

The Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) of the Council of Europeestablishes a series of levels for all European languages, from which the comparison of the different titles issued by certified entities is favoured.

The DELE A1 level certifies that the student can:

  • Access the Spanish-speaking world, improve your academic training and give you confidence to continue advancing in the rest of the certifications.
  • To develop an elementary understanding of the language in situations regarding immediate needs or common topics.

The DELE A1 exam consists of four tests that cover reading, writing and communication skills:

  • Reading comprehension (45 minutes)
